One of the reasons I’m running is because of people like my dad. When I was little, my dad’s main goal was to provide for his family. He was a strong, intelligent man, the third generation to work for the railroad — a hard, physically demanding job — before hurting his back. That injury put him in an office job helping provide for charities though the United Way Campaign (which he loved), but that placement didn’t last long.
These sorts of trials test a man. They test anyone who works to provide for a family. But my dad was bigger than an injury and he never gave up. After a rough couple years, he found a job working for the local school system caring for the school building itself.
Men like my dad put in 100% on the job and deserve a government that stands up for them, that cares for them, and works to invite the jobs of the future into their communities. If we flip this seat, I’ll be an advocate for workers, I’ll support strong and sustainable pensions, and I’ll focus on bringing green energy jobs right here to Minnesota.
Let’s fight for our dads today and every day. We can find common ground and do this together.
